About CiteCycle

CiteCycle is an AI search visibility tool that asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google your customers' questions every week, shows who the answers mention and cite, and turns every gap into a concrete action, for small businesses and lean marketing teams that want AI assistants to recommend them.

What CiteCycle does

Weekly AI answer tracking

Your customers' real questions are put to ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude through their native web search, plus Google results, every week. Every answer is stored in full with its citations, so you see exactly what buyers see.

Mention and citation tracking

Each engine is tracked separately for two plain rates: mentioned (the answer names your brand) and cited (the citations include your domain). Answers that use your content without naming you are flagged as ghost citations.

Source and competitor analysis

Every source the engines cite is deduplicated and ranked, including the lists where your competitors appear and you don't. Competitor share of voice shows who the answers recommend instead of you.

A weekly action plan

Cited sources become opportunities on a board, and each week a top-3 plan is picked from the evidence: pages to refresh, lists to pitch, drafts to publish. You always know what to do next, not just what changed.

AI content drafts and outreach copy

Content opportunities are drafted as articles and pages for you to review, edit and publish on your own site. Outreach opportunities come with copy-paste pitch copy and contact discovery.

AI crawler access checks

CiteCycle checks every week whether AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot are allowed by your robots.txt and can actually reach your homepage. A blocked crawler shows up as an alert before it costs you citations.

What makes CiteCycle different

  1. 1

    Actions, not another dashboard

Most AI-visibility tools stop at charts. CiteCycle turns every finding into something you can do this week, from refreshing a cited page to pitching a list your competitors are on.

  2. 2

Four engines, tracked as separate channels

ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google rarely agree on which sources to cite, so each one gets its own read. Pro adds Google AI Overviews, putting SEO and AI visibility side by side.

  3. 3

    Every number has a receipt

There are no composite scores. Every metric drills down to a stored answer with its cited sources, so you can check exactly what an engine said and when.

  4. 4

Measured before and after every action

Discovery runs every 7 days, because AI answers vary from run to run and weekly trends are what matter. Next week's run compares your mentioned and cited rates before and after each completed action.

  5. 5

You stay in control of everything public

Nothing is published automatically. Drafts wait for your review, outreach opens in your own mail client, and community replies are written for you to post from your own account.

Who uses CiteCycle

  • Small businesses checking whether AI assistants recommend them when customers ask who to buy from.
  • Founders and solo marketers who need a short weekly plan, not an analyst or another dashboard habit.
  • In-house SEO and content teams adding AI visibility next to Google rankings, since strong rankings don't carry over to AI answers on their own.
  • Product and ecommerce brands competing for a place on the review sites and "best of" lists that AI engines cite.
  • Teams running several sites tracking up to 3 brands on Pro, each with its own questions and competitors.

How CiteCycle works

  1. 01

    Add your website

Enter your URL and CiteCycle analyzes the site to prefill your brand description, competitors and the questions customers ask. Review them, and your first discovery runs in minutes.

  2. 02

    Ask the engines

Every week your questions go to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google. Full answers and citations are stored, and mentions of your brand are detected.

  3. 03

    Read the sources

Cited sources are classified into opportunities, such as your own pages to refresh, lists and directories to get onto, and topics to write about. The strongest become this week's top-3 plan.

  4. 04

    Act and measure

Publish the drafts, send the outreach and refresh the pages. The weekly digest and next week's run show whether your mentioned and cited rates moved.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from an SEO tool?

SEO tools tell you where you rank on Google. We tell you whether AI assistants mention and cite your brand when customers ask — and most pages that rank top-3 on Google never make it into an AI answer. Then we turn the gaps into concrete actions.

Where does the data come from?

We ask the real engines your customers use — ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude via their native web search, plus Google results and AI Overviews — and store the full answers and citations so you can verify every number.

What is the difference between being mentioned and being cited?

You are mentioned when the answer text names your brand, and cited when the answer's sources include your domain. CiteCycle tracks both rates per engine; being cited without being named is a ghost citation, where the answer uses your content without naming your brand.

Why weekly and not daily?

Because the goal is action, not watching. AI answers vary run to run, so trends over weekly runs are what matter — and a week is the natural rhythm for actually doing the top actions, not just reading them.

Do you publish content automatically?

No. Drafts are generated for your review — you edit, approve, and publish on your own site. Outreach copy is copy-paste ready. You stay in control of everything public.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan tracks 1 brand with 2 questions per weekly discovery across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google, and includes 2 AI content drafts a month. No credit card is needed to start.

Can I change my plan later?

Yes — upgrade or downgrade anytime. Changes take effect at the start of the next billing cycle, and your data is never deleted when you change plans.
